Η Camilla Lackberg (Καμίλα Λέκμπεργ) γεννήθηκε στις 30 Αυγούστου 1974 και μεγάλωσε στη Φιελμπάκα, ένα ψαροχώρι, 140 χλμ. περίπου από το Γέτεμποργ. Στη Φιελμπάκα εκτυλίσσονται και όλες οι ιστορίες των βιβλίων της. Από παιδί ήθελε να γίνει συγγραφέας. Μόλις έντεκα χρονών είχε διαβάσει όλα τα βιβλία της Αγκάθα Κρίστι. Σπούδασε οικονομικά στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Γέτεμποργ και εργάστηκε ως οικονομολόγος για μερικά χρόνια στη Στοκχόλμη. Ένα σεμινάριο δημιουργικής γραφής, το οποίο παρακολούθησε στη Στοκχόλμη, στάθηκε η αφορμή για να αλλάξει καριέρα. Τότε ξεκίνησε να γράφει και το πρώτο της βιβλίο "Η παγωμένη πριγκίπισσα", το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε το 2003 στη Σουηδία, όταν η Καμίλα ήταν 29 χρονών. Τρία χρόνια αργότερα τα βιβλία της πολλά υποσχόμενης σειράς με πρωταγωνιστές τη συγγραφέα Ερίκα -το alter ego της Καμίλα- και τον αστυνομικό Πάτρικ, φιγουράρουν στις λίστες των μπεστ σέλερ. Σήμερα τα βιβλία της έχουν πουλήσει πάνω από 10.000.000 αντίτυπα και έχουν εκδοθεί σε περισσότερες από 30 χώρες. Εξαιρετικά δημοφιλής στη χώρα της, πρόσφατα έλαβε η ίδια μέρος στο τηλεοπτικό "Χορεύοντας με τ' αστέρια", ενώ από τα Χριστούγεννα του 2012 προβάλλεται στη σουηδική τηλεόραση σειρά βασισμένη στα μυστήρια της Φιελμπάκα.
