Sales of every copy of this book will help support the work of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, which helps forcibly displaced communities and stateless people across the world.

Συγγραφέας

O Neil Gaiman γεννήθηκε το 1960 στο Πόρτσεστερ της Αγγλίας και τώρα μένει στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες. Είναι ένας από τους σημαντικότερους μυθοπλάστες της εποχής μας. Το σημαντικότερο έργο θεωρούνται οι 10 τόμοι (75 τεύχη) του κόμικ "The Sandman", που έχει αποσπάσει πολλά μεγάλα βραβεία σε χώρες όπως οι ΗΠΑ, η Αγγλία, η Γερμανία κ.ά. Κεντρικός ήρωας του "Τhe Sandman" είναι ο Μορφέας, ο αινιγματικός άρχοντας του κόσμου των ονείρων. Τα πιο γνωστά του μυθιστορήματα είναι το "Neverwhere", που μεταφέρθηκε στην μικρή οθόνη, το "Stardust", που απέσπασε το βραβείο για το Καλύτερο Μυθιστόρημα Φαντασίας του 1999, και βέβαια το "American Gods", το μοναδικό βιβλίο στην ιστορία της λογοτεχνίας του φανταστικού που έχει αποσπάσει τα βραβεία Nebula, Hugo, Bram Stoker και Locus, και ήταν υποψήφιο για το World Fantasy Award. Πολλά από τα διηγήματά του έχουν συμπεριληφθεί στη συλλογή "Smoke and Mirrors: Short stories and illusions". Έχει ακριβώς τρία παιδιά και περίπου εφτά γάτες.
