Συγγραφέας

Ο Λη Τσάιλντ (πραγματικό όνομα: Jim Grant) γεννήθηκε το 1954 στο Κόβεντρι και μεγάλωσε στη βιομηχανική περιοχή των Μίντλαντς, στη Μ. Βρετανία. Σπούδασε νομικά και εργάστηκε για είκοσι χρόνια στην ιδιωτική τηλεόραση. Το πρώτο του μυθιστόρημα, "Killing Floor" (ελλ. έκδ. "Κλοιός θανάτου", 1998), κέρδισε τα βραβεία Anthony και Barry Award for Best First Novel. Ακολούθησε η φημισμένη σειρά μυθιστορημάτων με ήρωα τον Jack Reacher, τον μοναχικό περιπλανώμενο πρώην αστυνομικό του στρατού, που έγιναν όλα διεθνείς επιτυχίες. Σήμερα μοιράζει το χρόνο του ανάμεσα στο Μανχάταν και στη Νότια Γαλλία και αφιερώνει τον ελεύθερο χρόνο του στη μουσική και το διάβασμα. Το 2009 εκλέχθηκε πρόεδρος της ένωσης Mystery Writers of America. Το 2013 τιμήθηκε στη Μ. Βρετανία με το βραβείο Diamond Dagger Award for Lifetime Achievement, από την Crime Writers' Association, για την προσφορά του στην αστυνομική λογοτεχνία.
